Savior of the World in Salt Lake City

Callie had the great idea to go see the Savior of the World performance at Temple Square during Thanksmas. Tickets sell out quickly and they just became available so if possible, we would like to buy the tickets within the next couple of days. Has anyone solidified travel plans?

If you want to check out the performance just go to: http://www.lds.org/events/info/0,8197,726-1-639,00.html

Scheduling Issues

Hello everyone. Thanks for checking the blog and leaving comments. If everyone checks it regularly and it's updated regularly than it really is a great way for everyone to be able to make input and stay informed.

I have to say I love you all. This past session of conference only made me feel more strongly about the importance of family FOREVER.

One of the comments posted on the last blog announced that Uncle Carl returns home with honor from serving our country on October 18th. Carl and Roxeanne - do you guys have any plans to come to Thanksmas?

The whole point of Thanksmas is to work around people's schedules and make it work for everyone, so don't be shy about stating specific scheduling needs.

The California Crew does not get out of school until December 22nd.

Micah and I are leaving to spend the Christmas Holiday in Reno on December 23rd.

Jon has weddings on December 13, 21 and 29th. The last date he'll be in SanDiego.

What other scheduling issues are out there?

I can't help myself.... He is the cutest!

Tentative Date

Dad just let me know that his vacation is December 11-17 for sure. He wants to take 3 more days off just before or just after those days to make a total of 10 days off. So Thanksmas has the potential to be anywhere between December 8-20th.

Dad won't know his schedule for sure until November 28th. Does anyone have anything conflicting with those potential dates?

Thanksmas is Coming!

Thanksmas is a Davis family tradition. Callie thought it up to work around Dad's fun and exciting flight schedule and still be able to enjoy the holiday season with him and Nancy. It has truly become a real holiday to our family. We usually have it in between Thanksgiving and Christmas right in the middle of the holiday spirit.

It really doesn't matter when we have it though, because it's become such a treasured tradition. The spirit of giving and love are the driving forces behind planning Thanksmas each year.

I'd like to announce Thanksmas 2007. Christine and Covey will be hosting this year's Thanksmas celebration at their beautiful new house in Lehi. We are still figuring out when it will be. I know that dad already has his schedule, and we'll mostly be planning around that.

Feel free to leave comments about any ideas you have for Thanksmas this year. These are some of the plans so far:
  • Thanksmas feast: everyone gets to choose something that means Christmas/Thanksmas to them and add it to the menu. Let us know what your favorites are!
  • Thanksmas T shirt or sweatshirt or something....
  • Thanksmas outings....
  • Thanksmas photos.....
  • Thanksmas activities...
Let all the Davis families know about this blog. I'd love to collect everyone's email addresses as well. Mine is bootstothemoon@gmail.com.

Love you all and see you soon!
